KDH presented at C21 BioVentures which attracted a targeted audience of senior executives from the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and venture capital communities.

The National Institute of Health (NIH) has funded a network of 150 Emergency Departments (NETT network) to do research in neurology including brain trauma, stroke and seizure.
KDH is part of the NETT network and intends to have a significant presence in many of the 150 hospital sites in the next 24 months. As utilized by the NETT, the GHN will identify qualified subjects within one hour of their arrival in the Emergency Room and provide secure communication of patient information between hospitals and investigators, allowing rapid enrollment of patients into appropriate clinical trials.

Vice President, Engineering Dan Carnese brings over 20 years of experience with Silicon Valley software ventures, including ten years with startups delivering innovative products to health care providers and health insurance companies. As the original VP Engineering at Initiate Associates, Dan led the product engineering and first customer implementations of MDM (Master Data Management) for Catholic Healthcare West and other providers to speed the adoption and exchange of electronic medical records.
The company was recently acquired by IBM’s Information Management Division. Prior to that Dan was Senior Scientist and Director of Engineering for Independence Technologies focused on highly available, highly scalable real-time systems in many industry segments, as well as enterprise applications for the health insurance industry. The company was acquired by BEA Systems.
At KDH Systems, Dan will manage the engineering team responsible for product development and deployment of the Global Health Network and will work closely with our strategic partners in the pharma and CRO industry.
He received his BA in Computer Science, Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, earned his Master of Science in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was elected to Sigma Xi. He serves as a board member of the Silicon Valley Action Network.
